故事:
C.E.70.02.11，地球聯邦和劄多因經濟問題而對立，由於外交斡旋無效，所以戰爭終於爆發。一年後，中立國的資源衛星“赫立奧波利斯”遭劄多突襲，並奪走地球聯邦開發的四台高達，學生基拉．大和意外地被捲入，並成為唯一未被搶走的突擊高達駕駛員，但他的對手卻是好友亞斯蘭．察拉和他的神盾高達……
In C.E.70, an economic conflict between the Earth Union and theZ.A.F.T. (Coordinators) resulted in a war. A year later is where thestory begins. A neutral resource satellite, Heliopolis was suddenlyattacked by a team of Z.A.F.T.'s a first set of mobile suits, Gundam.The mission was almost succeeded with four Gundams in Z.A.F.T.'s hand.Kira Yamato, a technical high school student, who got involved in theincident accidentally met his old friend, Athrun. Contrary to hisintention, Kira made Athrun and the Coordinators enemy. Athrun tries toshoot Kira in the name of justice.
