You got pain during raining
The most directly correlation pops up in my mind is humidity

You may search online or ask other people
I guess it helps a bit

Plate tectonics - just due to the hot lava with convection for a rough picture.

Or you want to know more at which aspect?
I am not a geo guy but I can try to think about it with physics..
