But if 4 has bigger market ( bigger profit thus bigger income for the girls), why don't they simply go for the 4 realm?

Reasons I can think of
1. Going 3 realm first have a backup plan of 4 realm when they are no longer popular.
2. Girls feel more embarrassed to be in 4 realm
3. 3 realm has bigger market and bigger piece of cake.
4. Oh yea, 4 realm is illegal in japan.

4 is sold oversea
so they are basically geographically different markets to begin with?
