based on MY experience / observation in HS, girls in my class did a little better than boys (p.s. i was in science group) ... girls scored 'A' more than boys in science subjects
as to why girls didn't pick up sci/eng as major in college (to suit your american english XD), i don't know cause it's prolly personal perference but i guess they had no interest in that boring field ... not because of what you said they were not good at it

once again ... the following is based on my experience only
i joined a program called AYP (the then DEA) which involved a series of physical activities like hiking, swimming etc :smile_27:
i grouped into my guys' friend (yes and i was the only chick) and completed it at the end ... so i don't think girls are less comparable with boys physically

well i believe we, as human beings are intelligence anyway ... and to your question why both sexes would be in different fields is perhaps becuase each individual has different interest / perference ... it doesn't mean that one does not have talent in that area and you goto understand talent can be learnt in some way ....
