u can't find it in LA??? really?? i thought LA has a decent amount of chinese community

They have a large varieties of OTHER brands of chili sauce...

The most famous would be 是拉差 and it is now my new favourite now. You should definitely try that, no matter which brands.

Another brand is "Old Fxxk Mom", that one is good too and perfect for Hotpot dip sauce.

I took one econometrics in US...
