many reasons. swine flu, recession, hence less people travel.

another major reason is that some companies (british airline, i think) thought the oil price would keep going up when it was $100+ per barrel, and bought contracts that locked in that price, which is now considered a BIG loss (correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the oil price is about $60/barrel now)

The upper half of body is straight or slightly fowards

i tend to tilt my head a bit forward (like a hunch) sometimes, hence hurts my neck

Oh, not sure about the wrong hedge movement but it's the similar to SouthWest  ( US airline )
They hedged the oil price and earned a lot of money when it is 100+ barrel
