I guess those brands (expensive), it's a sign of security ( in terms of materials ).
If they are not sold in a expensive price tag, they are nothing.
Just like gold, they are scarce and then be expensive. However, I don't think gold is pretty.
People will still show off about their 24k gold necklace, ring, whatever even the gold teeth.
For the show off thing...I guess it's built-in.
By showing off, somehow you can build up your image/position among your community...LOL
or want to be the alpha male.
If I have quality to show off, I will show off implicitly of course.
Not meaning I don't want to show off explicitly, but the common society value tells me not to do so
Or otherwise my friends will start hating/teasing me. SO, implicitly. LOL
For the decaying HK girls thing, I don't think the previous HK girls were better than the current generation ( the 2x ones now ). In fact, with higher education they received, I prefer these HK girls but the feminism or whatever makes them, pickier.
For me, it's like fishing without the hook now...LOL
