Your own experience lead you to that point of view
Imagine, if you can score all As in HKCEE, you won't say so , or even just all Bs
That's not that fair to justify a system in general.
Even education is demand and supply
You said, you might not able be score the AL result for your major, that means that's more students applying that major and you all have to compete to fit your demand. It drives the admission grade high and blah blah blah
In Australia, they have a lot schools and not much population relatively, the competition is much less (not sure but i guess) and that's why you can get in there ( also, the bridging course etc is another good feature to you too , that's is high diploma in HK comparatively, although not as easy as yours )
That doesn't mean Australia is better in the system
That means the Australia is better in "geography" and better resources on education
