not only do you have to know the basic things from the book, you have to be creative an ...
I won't say it's easy, nothing is easy if you want to do well
But the point is, in academic words, the entry barrier for marketing is low. What the qualities you listed can be acquired not only from marketing major. Its like abilities based but not really a knowledge based thing.
Imagine, I guess I can do marketing/business but not good for sure, it's because I am not good at verbal communication but some one else with that can do much better than me even he/she is bullshit major.
Imagine again, you do my previous research job, can you do it even in not-so-good way?
That's the entry barrier which people need to study the ass off in their undergrad for that.
Let me restate my point
I am not talking whether your jobs or others business ones are easy or not
I am talking those things requires more on abilities instead of knowledge and those business major should be like minor but not major. People with those major, may have a start-off advantage than others but it's not crucial to me.
