But that's the commercial world needs XD

I always think marketing or business things is not really qualified as a major as you can pick up as a minor or so. They do'nt need qualification like accountancy/law, then you can learn it as minor and pick other more useful as major?

Like applied math/statistic major with marketing minor. This is better than solely marketing/business major i guess

Probably those business requires good communication skills and social skills?

For my subject, either right or wrong LOL

Or some partial credits for your calculation....
true ... science is science, not art or politics that one can argue and turn black to white, day to night, and wrong into right

Substantial amount of "read die book" is required ( through reciting things )
That's the basic knowledge for you to think

WTH? of course marketing is a major itself, so do PR, HR etc
perhaps there's no professional body for these areas like accounting and law, but the jobs are not as easy as we study from the book and look from the outsider's perpectives ... i have seen the marketing and PR team working like hxll, scratching their heads all day and night for one event's promotion :smile_35:

true but i don't think HK gov't realizes this "read die book" / spoon-feeding approach doesn't work yet, unfortunately

It is like

Imagine, one outsider ( non-related major ), they can still do those things, may not be as good/efficient as those major students
They can still do that job, communciations skill/social skills/experience contribute a lot right? Is there any technical things?

It is not the case if it's reverse.
Marketing students can't do other major's job probably

No offense but that's my sense, even some of my business friends think so too

That is the problem of "teachers"

HK govt provides the syllabus, the way of teaching is determined by the front-end teachers.
I won't blame HK govt on that. That's the tradition of Chinese society. It's not easy to change in one tide. That is built-in in the blood of our parents and their ancestors.

Anyway, I do buy the spoon-feeding policy even it's the case.
Certain amount of spoon feeding is need to feed people knowledge
Even you are creative, without basic knowledge, nothing one can do.

Research = knowledge + creativity + hardworking + luck
