Spring in the Tian Shan, the «Mountains of Heaven» in the south of Kazakhstan, in the heart of Asia. Two brown bear cubs have just left their den. For the brothers a journey full of adventures begins, but their mother will teach them how to master life between high summits and vast grasslands. The free-running horses and their foals burst with energy while they wander from the valley to the mountain pastures. On their way they meet the smallest and rarest marmots in the world and a very busy bird couple, the rollers. All animal parents have to fight hard to get their young strong enough to face the next winter. But there is also time for play and to enjoy living in one of Central Asia´s most beautiful wild places - the Tian Shan, a land of bears and horses. For the first time ever a film team has managed to capture the family life of brown bears in the mountains of Asia. A warm-hearted, authentic portrait of a bear family, their neighbours and the beauty of their rugged homeland.
