流行曲從來是互動觀感經驗──歌者演譯著創作人的一百個情感，歌迷再用一百個方法去理解，大眾的解讀和反應又影響著創作人下一次的創作，一環一環地形成流行文化的集體意識……。
《那些年那些歌 II》也在這個川流不息的循環中找出自己獨有的位置。導演、編劇、製作人等以意創造，為歌手的歌曲取捨，配上故事。若音樂錄像是原創者或歌手的自白，《那》就是我們經過集體意識的洗禮後，寫出的流行曲錄像了。
世上大概每一個人都有自己的方式去利用流行曲，那似乎與本身的歌手有關係，也無關係。《那些年那些歌II》就是關於這種有與沒有。
《那些年那些歌 II》以粵語流行曲為本，把音樂影像化為故事，嘗試以畫面將歌曲深意呈現，穿越不同年代，重塑大家對那些歌的回憶與情懷，並引發新的想像。
