龍舟水上活動聯會主席簡偉傑表示，划龍舟可以訓練長者心肺功能，體力亦加以提升，龍舟運動最特別之處是很少碰撞

，因此減低長者受傷機會，而且一隊龍舟隊有二十至三十位成員，可令長者保持群體生活，在過程中十分愉快。
