this sat morning i read the feeds from my lovely professor and the article titled "you shouldn't be taxed for being a woman", commenting about the recent PR move of one supermarket giant to slash the GST / sales tax on ALL feminine hygiene products ... this was a smart campaign and drew on extensive community debates about equality, sexist, necessities etc ... but the interesting part is pads and tampons fall under the 'luxury' umbrella of the current tax regime right here WTH luxury?! and you know what? the ironic part is how condoms and lubricants are tax-free, eh? haha
