I trust you
For running
Get a pair of good running shoes first
Then for you..if you are not into timing, then keep running in practice
Run every another day, 3 times a week.
Then you are good to go.
At least finish 10k a few times before the run so you know/get familiar your body status in 10k and how to preserve stamina. More importantly, it can build up your willpower on finishing the 10k.
Read some running posture. Find a breathing way.
Usually, people use Nose - 2 times breathe in, then Mouth - 1 time breathe out
Everyone is different. You may want to find your rhythm
Remember to take like 4-5 days rest before the 10k run.
