if the intersection isn't too big, they usually just throw in a 2 seconds "all red" phase, where the signals are all red in all direction, to make sure the traffic is cleared out, before the next green.

It also related to the flow of traffic

If a lane with all trucks during the morning or night time
For normal cars, 20 sec is enough for 5-6 cars
but 3 trucks

Then the trucks may build up the traffic by its length etc

my frd had a backpack trip there b4, he slept at love motel(only fit 2 ppl, very small space), cheaper than other:smile_o01:

ya..... japan would be pretty expensive, eh?
but i would want to go somewhere other than tokyo tho... and ride the train through to different places
