Hardcopy maybe keep long than softcopy.
Hardcopy may decay in quality ( more yellow ) due to oxidizing
Still, watch photos in screen is better
Sharper, more colorful, contrast, saturation etc.
Softcopy, in theory, can be stored forever
The lifetime, is by the medium which stores it
If you frequently backup, that's forever
