In macroscopic view, they are unchanged.
Then, your two argument may cancel each other
Less birth rate = less competitors
Delay retirement doesn't do anything to my point. I meant, death and getting married.
Jumping levels will be cancelled if you consider dropping levels too
Do you have this concepts in macro/micro economics? I don't know
But in physics, this kind of thing is very common, of course, needs some relaxation on assumption
