wow jealousy as in a worry about domination but ppl's skills and talent? a statement from the bottom heart? be honest, kid ha
but your analogy is sth like why economists hate monopoly to a cert ...
You know what, in TT world
It's a problem
Start from 199x, China national team started having upstoppable team.
With the current big 3 ( Wang Hao, Ma Lin, Wang Liqin ), they have almost got all big titles (including the big 3 titles = World Cup, World Championship and Olympis )
Then the ITTF ( Interational TT foundation or federation, not sure ) changes the rule of TT . Bigger ball for less spin and less speed. No more hiding serve as Chinese teams were damn good at that. The current national coach Liu Kwok Leung was the representative of the hiding serve. He was forced to retire during his 2x age because the rules was changed.
Also, they change the best 2 out of 3 ( 21 marks ) into best 4 out of 7 (11 marks). It allows poorer players have higher chance to win, from theory of probability.
After that, China national team was still dominating
Now, ITTF has to prohibit the use of VOC glue ( 非揮發性 ). That effectively lower the speed of the ball. They try to make TT less favorable to Chinese team.
Why do ITTF do so?
Since Chinese team dominates TT for 1x years and other countries don't want to invest resources in something they don't have chance.
Without resources/promotion, ITTF don't have enough audience and thus not enough sponsorship. ITTF has to do something to improve that.
Now, only Korea and Germany have a little chance but no other countries even most other foreign players are imported from China.
