For kanji, ya, together with other things, Chinese people has advantage to learn
Oh well, for closed nations, the language itself is pretty alike to each other
My holland friend, know 6 langug ...
don't you know french, italian and spanish are all romance languages developed from latin?
since your holland friend learnt latin, this has already given him/her a good understanding of many european languages, and in fact including some others like slavic e.g. serbian and russian ... of course english too
by and large, if you know latin you can very easily pick up other langauges in europe and once you understand any of that say french (or german), you can breeze right thru' spanish (or dutch) coz both languages are of similar vocubuary with etymological roots
though you will have a tough time with the accent issue ... hard to fix haha
