if you compare 30 year to one life, it is a lot,
but if you compare 30 year to Chinese history (more than 2000), it is not too much.
However, you have to consider the time scale factor
The development within the present 30 years > 300 years in ancient world due to the motivity of everything - commodity, population, information, etc
30 years can tell a lot
Germany took 70 years from a poor broken country and reached to the 2nd highest GDP ( next to US ) around 19xx.
And China now reaches the 3rd highest GDP ( Per capita is still...very low ) by 30 years of modern development
30 years is a lot nowadays
