The story is that there was one guy (classmate from next class) I know when I was form four. We was good friend at that time. After a period, My friend told me that he love me. But I don't love him. So I don't talk to him anymore. I afraid he love me. After few years gone, I call him again and want to make friend with him. And then we are friend again. I discover that he still love me later. I have bf at that moment. So he didn't have any action. We kept our friendship until last year. I somtimes have lunch with him and other good friends coz our office are so close. He work like a boss. He can have lunch as long as he can. But I only have one hour for lunch. About twice, I forget to pay for lunch coz I should go to office in a hurry. I think I pay back to him next time. But he told others that I haven't paid, sound like I am not willing to pay back. I have heard from my friend later. I am shocked and think why he look me that when he know him for a long time. Then I call him and ask his account no. want to pay back to him immedicately. Later, he told my my friend that I seems not to want to be his friend anymore. I told my friend that I never think about that. I paid back to him next lunch. After that lunch, we won't contact each other.

I think why friendship can be broken easily.

Did you tell him you will pay him later before rushing back to your office?

Some times of that might mislead your friend.

I think you didn't do any thing wrong. You just want to give bad guys money and want not to be disturbed by them. You didn't expect bad guys hurt your friend after you give them money.

But my friend had said we had no money
If I insisted not paying to them, I am not sure but they might leave without hurting my friend

I didn't tell him coz I just think about going back to office at that moment. I think he should understand I am in a hurry, not means I don't want to pay. He should trust me. just one hundred only. I seems can't afford and not willing to pay? He can call me to remind me that, no need to say to others about that.

One time is okay
It happened a few times before you told him you would pay him back

That may mislead him...if I were him, I would have that image too.
But of course, he should not spread this gossip around your friends, that's pretty cheap

If you guys still not give them money few times later, they still have chance to hurt your friend. So you can't know what they do.

It happened twice only, not too many.

After that experience, I more care about giving money to my friend. Can't expect my friend understand me even if we know for a long time.

I don't want to lose friendship again.
