Honestly, my chinese ( exam-wise ) is pretty good.
But I barely thought i knew chinese well, especially the culture side.
After coming to US, I started thinking about whether I am a chinese or not, culture-wise.
It's a big question about self-recognition and then I started paying more attention in Chinese stuffs.
It's love, it's sense of belonging.
You feel like you don't belong in US, and you are detached from China/HK.
identity crisis, eh? like being lost n dunno quite where to fit in?
ha i only hv such kinda feeling once in a full moon
but i'm sure u hv heard of 'its not wat ur country can do 4 u, its wat u can do 4 ur country'.
when u fee ur country hv done shxt 4 u no longer feel like u're part of tat country regardless of where u were born, hence identity crisis?
