nonono.......pantone is a "code".....n each code represents a specific colour, pantone is just a general term.
its very important in garment industry, if they r talking about PINK, there r light pink, shocking pink, dark pink.....etc.  n bcos alittle colour difference can ends up big loss, so they need a very specific code to ensure they r talking about the same colour.
