i understand ... but if u wanna experience life do tat only when u can afford to do so
a frd of mine goes backpacking all the time and complain tat she's broke every single time she's back  ... wats the point for tat at the end of the day? i dunno ... i'd rather gain one year of working experience than one year of living experience in another country

about $20000 hkd (incl plane tix, train tix and everything)... and about 28 days??

but mind u. plane tickets to europe is cheaper for me from where i am..... so originating from hk... your cost might be a bit higher....

but would make more sense to do it in Canada than UK, tho.... since u won't need a working visa in Can, and has a better bargaining position as bebe mentioned...

i would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to do it.....

drunk, and wake up the next morning in a foreign country where you dont speak the language
sleeping in a train station in a town name you've never heard of in italy
party in a bar with random ppl cheering for Man U for the championship final
many random nights at the club/bar/hostel
cold showers in london every night
aweeeeeeeesome view of the alps in swiss
fondue
fish and chips

all too priceless.
