From DJ Mag.com

The S-Man is in full effect in 2008. Having justdropped a fresh edition of his long-running 'Roger Sanchez: ReleaseYourself Volume 7' - crammed with cuts from the likes of Pan-Pot, SteveAngello, Laidback Luke and Tom Stephan - he's been pushing in a moreelectronic direction of late. And readying a new album of productions, he promises a record thatcombines his trademark house grooves with new tougher elements."It's a little more electronic but still with a lot of vocals," saysSanchez. "I'm working with people like Seal, possibly Macy Gray and acouple of other people on the album. It's very dancefloor driven."

Sanchez is also celebrating tying the knot and introducing hisfamily to the cool pace of Ibiza life."I got married this year, it was a big change in my life and I'm lovingit," he smiles. "My wife is really supportive so it's a fantasticthing. And bringing my family to Ibiza for the first time, introducingthem to Ibiza life, was a definite highlight."

With cuts like Muzzaik's 'Out of Reach' and Funkerman's 'OneFor Me' currently doing disco damage on his Stealth Records label, aseries of Stealth classics due for re-release with new remixes, and alive mix album due from Laidback Luke, Roger Sanchez has got all basescovered.

From Myspace
Winnerof Best House DJ at the 2007 Ibiza DJ Awards, Roger Sanchez spent early2008 pouring his talents into compiling and mixing the latest additionto his coveted Release Yourself compilation series. ConsequentlyRelease Yourself Volume 7, a connoisseur’s collection for lovers of theS-Man’s sensuous dancefloor vibe, is now set for a release on Monday26th May, on Stealth Records. So slip on those shades as RY7 throws outsome serious rays. The summer is here, Sanchez-style!

Seemingly invincible throughout a remarkable music career that hasimpacted on the 80s, 90s and 00s, Roger has always strived to innovateand evolve creatively as an artist. This passion and drive is embodiedin Release Yourself, a cosmopolitan clubbing concept that’s every bitas relevant today as it was the day Roger first breathed life into theinfluential ‘Release Yo Self’ single in the mid-90s. From New York tothe Netherlands, from London to Ibiza, the flow of energies andemotions on his dancefloors has earned Release Yourself a stellarstatus right around the world. And, over time, the Release Yourselffamily has expanded to encompass a CD mix series, a radio show(recorded in both English and Spanish) and an International Dance MusicAwards (IDMA) 2007 winner for Best Podcast.

It’s therefore with great pride that Stealth Records announcesthe double disc arrival of Release Yourself Volume 7 to signal thestart of summer 2008. Its release follows on from some major leaguepartying for Roger at Miami WMC and pre-empts the party moving on to aweekly residency at Pacha Ibiza from Monday 16th June. For this latestvolume Roger has mixed an inspiring episode that marries his durable UShouse heritage with more minimal European influences. As with everychapter, a Release Yourself theme is revealed as the mix is presentedand for 2008 it’s water, pure and simple. So turn on RY7 with itsPre-Party and Party disc duality and submerge yourself in the sounds ofthe S-Man… just as water has its various states so does this package.

‘Locked to a groove, party people have always felt an immense sense offreedom, unity and excitement on the dancefloor,’ comments Roger.‘Release Yourself mirrors those experiences and encapsulates thatfreedom, on an annual basis. Keeping it fresh and running theelectronic gamut brought us to Volume 7 – a mixture of the key tracksflowing across my floors, together with some mellower moments for thePre-Party disc!’

First up, the Pre-Party CD invites us on an atmospheric ride thatbuilds and builds, from the minimal and melodic by way of deep house tomore techy sounds. Yes Roger is very much at the controls of this ship, making liquid transitions with hot cuts from the likes of Pan-Pot,Kalim Shabazz, Applescal, Dean Newton & Huggy and Lost Shade.

The Party CD kicks it up a gear, on a pounding tribal/electrohouse club trip. Here the mix includes two S-Man edits (of MLA andMidnite Sleaze/Belocca) and stacks of today’s top talents, includingSteve Angello, Mark Knight & Funkagenda, Axwell & Ingrosso andTV Rock. Finally Laidback Luke & Tom Stephan ft. Romanthony closethe curtains with a WMC bomb called ‘Show’, which is a forthcomingsingle on Stealth so watch this space.             Release Yourself Volume 7 is out Monday 26th May on Roger’s own Stealth label – a proud winner of Beatport’s Gold Award.
