the news was referring to short sell
which is different

short sell means selling stocks that you don't actaully own
you sell it now and buy later to fulfill your obligation
speculators benefit from short selling as they think the stock price is going down
so they sell at a higher price now and buy the cheaper stock later lor...

btw, the ban was no longer in place...

shorting stocks is different from contracts. you should ask macy again what it is.

btw, i think macy has to explain to chef about the trading in exchange and outside the exchange.
